Yes, Legion, the amount of out-and-out hate expressed for Bush bordered on mania. We have never expressed such hate for any Democrats like they have for us. I just don’t understand their complete lack of tolerance.

Dibs – What planet are you on? Tea parties? Birthers? Quadruple the number of assassination threats? etc., etc. too numerous to list!!!
I’d always thought you were relatively sane & with-it.
GS and LS are sedans and I want an SUV, M4L. LX is just too big for me and also eats way more gas than I would like it to eat. I don’t like driving from gas station to gas station. RX is my only choice and it’s not any more “girly” than both of your cars :o).

Kens, I don’t have a “hot ride”. I’m married and “domesticated” (nicer word for castrated) so you shouldn’t be bragging your car is same as mine – ie you single young dude should be in hot ride. Must have to admit, there’s really no hot manly SUV that aint very expensive.
Kens, I finally got around to trying that ‘P’tit Paris’ bistro last night. That’s on Prospect and PPW, in WT, SS, GH, or whatever.
Mrs. D and I arrived about 8:30 PM, there were only a few other diners. Later the waitress said they are generally busier and to make sure we get a rez on the weekend!
The staff appears to be all French, so naturally the wine list seemed a bit chauvinistic as there were only French wines. NO the French do NOT make the best $20 wines in the world, especially given the dollar. Anyway they had a decent range by region and price.
We figured we’d start with classic bistro food to make sure they can execute the simple stuff before trying anything else later.
Mrs. D ordered the escargots, which were much too salty. I ordered the French onion soup, since that is often a reliable indicator of the kitchen, given that a really good onion soup needs three days or so to make from scratch. It didn’t have the real deep meatiness that it might have, otoh it didn’t taste canned. Overall I’d give it a 4 outta 5. Not bad.
Mrs. D ordered the coq au vin, and I had the steak au poivre. The coq au vin was advertised as being rooster, not chicken, whatever that means. Anyway Mrs. D was well pleased.
I ordered the steak medium rare, I could have pegged it as medium when it arrived. Anyway reasonable people can disagree about these things. The steak was quite good and the deep brown sauce was well seasoned, peppery, and good all around.
The potatoes au gratin that came along were unbelievably good. Very thinly sliced and baked in a garlic cream sauce until the outside of the brick was brown and crusty, and the inside was creamy and garlicky. Delish. Also got a nice stuffed tomato!
The desserts were quite exceptional. I had a chocolate tart with a creamy interior. It came with a bunch of lil’ goodies on the side including a tangerine-sherbert-filled cracker thingie. Mrs. D had something similar that she liked, but forget the details.
They had a sweet muscat and a Sauternes on the dessert menu, very appropriate, and we shared a glass of each.
All in all, an excellent meal, good service too. We’ll definitely be going back.
Compared to when I moved in the nabe two years ago, we have now picked up at least four new and good restaurants; This, Lot2, Ten, and I think Fonda, to join that Euro place on 5th. Still not the center Slope, but good to have some real choices down here.
biff- spybot search and destroy is one of the best and i would not recommend any free antivirus programs (although AVG is good) because ordinarily they do not have certain features paid versions do. But if you must, try AVG, and spybot.
CGar- has your sense of sarcasm escaped you again? 🙂

Shirley you jest, bxgrl?!?! I mean, dear, that I’d sooner swallow broken glass (you’ve never heard that expression??) than listen to cats sing the Sound of Music for the next 5 years. Sweetie, I can barely make it through a Meow Mix commercial without horking. 🙂
[Ruh-roh. It’s gonna be colder than usual in our house tonight]

Denton, are you still here? I thought I remembered you (et.al.) talking about anti-virus/anti-spyware programs and mentioning Norton isn’t great.
Did you say you know some free programs that can be downloaded that are just as good, if not better, in protecting one’s home computer from viruses?
I want an old GTO – like woah
u got it CDude!
