legion, I saw some interesting stats about Obama’s poll ratings compared to others at the same time. What struck me was the second worst was your buddy Reagan. And thinking about it, it makes sense. Reagan inherited some serious economic issues from Carter that were being handled appropriately by Volker (a Carter nominee who Reagan kept) but the average man in the street couldn’t understand, similar to today.
Reagan became next to G-d for a lot of conservatives even tho he ran the budget deficit thru the roof. So something similar could easily happen to Obama.
His health care plan could prove popular to many who don’t have it if it passes. The economy could bounce back faster than many are anticipating. He could successfully wind down both of the wars he inherited. And he has more than three years ahead of him to do this.
So he ends up with a Reagan-style deficit. We can handle that for now.
OMG i was tricked into purchasing an environmentally sustainable xmas card. :-/ why dont they state that clearly and not in teeny tiny font on the back? grrr no wonder it cost like 5 bux! i should have just gone to duane reade but it’s too hot in there and the lines get long so i went to papyrus or kate’s paperie. one of those overpriced paper shops!

cobblehiller,
I had rob cornered in the “gentrification” thread,
then he slipped through a hatch behind the “two boots”
sign.
rob,
lol, you have a future with the Al Sharpton
organization. Corporate extortion is a whole
untapped realm.
Oh crap, I thought I just smothered him until he passed out, and locked him in the PLUSA office closet.
