  1. Whenever I’ve looked at new (empty) places I’ve always gone with a tape measure.
    Nothing wrong with selling houses empty, but empty rooms always look smaller than furnished rooms, IMO.

  2. Snaps- totally agree with your HGTV comment. seems much safer to have no furnishing than to risk bad furnishings. one (seller) could have bad taste and not know it. may as well just show off the bones, and let people imagine decor and furniture than could never possibly fit in real life

    I agree BUT there are a lot of people that really are clueless. They can’t visualize a room without seeing furniture in it. That’s why people hire architects/designers/decorators to guide them with proportion, scale, and buy them taste.
