I saw a special on tv this weekend about holiday lights. Some nutball in FL puts up over 1 million lights and animations, etc. and his electric bill for the 2 months that he runs it is around $55k. EEEK!
Is snappy here? (Trying to keep my head down). Has she done Hari yet??
Snaps- Mm and I were discussing. No- boiling in chicken broth will not make him taste like chicken but you could go the bbq route.
Etson- I signed up. Can’t hurt but I am so pissed at how stupid they were.
Don’t want to get into the rich/poor discussion except to say its a useless discussion. We’re all too busy clinging to our differences and little fiscal ideas of the other and the majority of us are just trying to survive at this point. Some of you have a fantastical idea of the poor in this country and seem to think they are all leeches. They’re not- but a country without compassion for those who need it most might as well be Stalinist Russia. As for the idea that poor people demand space and amenities- I think you’ll find it is the rich who are buying the $6000 shower curtains and 25,000 couches to put into their 105 room McMansions. Legion- I grew up in a 2 bedroom apartment too- shared a room with my sister and grandmother after my brother left to go into the Air Force.
Kens, I thought it seemed like more lights this year (we drove around this past weekend). I’ll admit, I’m bored with 84th Street, as it’s the same thing every year. I wish these rich mafia guys would invest in some different Xmas decorations to delight us poor folk.
Bxgirl, I shan’t kill you and MM for Hari’s transgressions 🙂 The bbq sounds good though!
“They want $55 for a f*(#Y*%# bus ride!!!”
I’ll charge you guys $10/per person. No one drunk or high will be admitted on this tour.

I’d love to go see the Dyke lights at some point.
P.S., Snaps, last time we had lunch at Corner Burger, the day ended with *rob* talking to your mother.

Rob, let’s go one weekend. We’ll take the train and then walk around.
I just did some googling and it turns out there is an official tour that runs for the lights. They want $55 for a f*(#Y*%# bus ride!!! HELL NO!
The lights are up Rob and Snappy.
