Pete, I’ll sign your holiday petition. I HATE that Christmas starts earlier and earlier every year – ornaments were out in Hallmark in July, as were 2010 calendars, and Christmas decorations went up on Court Street before Halloween! I like a holiday season that runs from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day. If I had a tree, I’d put it up the day after Thanksgiving, and take it down after New Year’s. I also like a traditional Thanksgiving meal, though, like Dave, my family always experimented with desserts in addition to making traditional desserts.

Show of hands. Which is more traditional? Homemade cranberry sauce or cranberry sauce from a can?

Cormac is easily the most interesting writer alive today. He turned down money once in order to keep writing. He had to be coaxed to appear on Oprah, not in the Jonathan can’t believe I can’t remember his name even though I recognized him at Three Lives Books that time.
