Bxgirl, I don’t have to agree with everything Benson says or does in order to agree with the point he is making now. Those past incidents are irrelevant in this conversation. Let’s not forget that he called me a hypocrite and told me to go fuck myself not that long ago. And I in turn cursed him out good fashion not to long ago. But that’s not the point. I happen to see his perspective on this issue he brought up and I stated as much. We won’t all agree with each other on everything discussed on this board. Seemingly ideological allies will always part ways at some point and new common ground will be found every day with every issue.

This is a house in an historic district that was restored as close as is possible using contemporary materials. Yes, maybe we shouldn’t laugh at the guy who ruined the building last time because it was the thing to do, but hey, it’s a reno blog.

I disagree with your contention that the wealth of the country is in the suburbs. Before there were suburbs, there were cities. The wealth of suburbs flows from cities. Jane Jacobs’ ‘Cities and the Wealth of Nations’ discusses this in detail.

The suburbs may be the biggest market for EIFS building materials, lol, but that’s neither here nor there.

Unfortunately it’s mired with his usual tired condescension, personal digs and a loathing for those who would aspire to preserve the historical architecture of a great city.
