tybur6 – Many people here would have you believe that laws favor tenants over landlords.
Don’t most tenants just not pay last months rent to begin with…so no security deposit return required.
I only signed lease for 1 apartment in NYC which was rent-stabilized. Then I bought with money I saved.
After yesterday’s convo about spices. I decided to clean out my spice cabinet and take stock.
I have Oyster Sauce and Thai chili Paste that I’ve never used! My best friend bought them for me and was going to show me to make some easy Thai dishes but then she moved back to Thailand. Yes Dave, to Bangkok (cue Dave to start talking about his adventures).
What do I do with Oyster Sauce and Thai Chili Paste??
“I guess, East New York, you are just dripping with extra cash and can just move any time you want. That’s great. I’m happy for you. Just don’t suggest this as an option for most renters.”
Nah, I’m not lush with extra cash, and wasn’t when I rented my last place. But I was OK enough to get it together and plan a move.I have had also had periods in my past when I had to move rather quickly. It’s never “easy” but few things worth having are easy to obtain. Welcome to the grown-up world. Sometimes “just move” IS the only option, and you have to prepare for that. That’s all I’m saying.
I had a coffee this morning with a guy I went to high school with – not seen each other for 20 years!

Does he know you as “the chicken?”
I just replaced my cinnamon and now have a hankering for cinnamon toast…the real kind made in the bottom of the stove.
I don’t really have any bad memories of high school Cobby. Maybe I repressed them!
Of course the trash bin is lined!

“I am terrible at keeping in touch in general and Facebook has really helped me to reconnect with old friends.”
Likewise, chicken, but I sometimes find it a bit overwhelming. So many memories both good and bad come flooding back.
Cobble – it’s still pretty gross. 🙂
