  1. Since it was requested: Just in time for Halloween my cats went into needing-exorcism mode this a.m. Eldritch screams & fur standing on end. A stray was sitting nose-to-nose w/ them on a window sill. Thank goodness the window was closed!

  2. oh, Legion, spare me the outlier poor-immigrant-cum-lucrative business owner. Stagnant wages for 30 years, despite a constant rise in productivity– there is something seriously wrong with that, and you don’t have to be a socialist to think so.

    so, i have a cat that used to smell like nothing, and now she constantly smells like litterbox– thoughts?

  3. Somewhere I read or heard about Pedro pitching well in warm weather only now…

    The knock on CC was he always sucked in big games. In cleveland, a big game was the ALCS. In New york, a big game is no the ALCS – that’s just a signpost on the way to a championship for Yankees fans – but the World Series.

    That was a fascinating game last night. the best part was the ceremonial first pitch. VERY moving!!

  4. stevieb,

    the fundamental problem with your argument about a “30 year” class struggle in which the “middle class” lost their money is this;
    You assume a static class structure. We have a dynamic class structure in which people and families move up and down the ladder. Some, very publically as we see all the time in city newspapers. The story of the immigrant turned owner, the story of the owner turned philanthropist or the wealthy gone poor.
    what do you think attracts people to this nation in the first place? The possibility.
    What’s next? a fundraiser for MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice?

    …uh spell check on my last post. that should read revolution. sorry.
