  1. Benson, I hardly think the worse racial moment in this city was the Korean store boycott. Please. If you don’t like Dinkins, fine. He was mayor at a time when this city was pulling itself out of a deep hole, financially and culturally, and he had the misfortune to find himself at the helm when issues of race and culture exploded. Did he handle everything well? No. No mayor handles everything well. The Korean boycott was based on some messy truths, prejudice on both sides, and a lot of resentments, some justified, some not. Sounds like just about every issue that comes up. But the worst racial moment? I can think of a few body counts that were much worse. If it had happened under another administration, you wouldn’t have even mentioned it.

  2. I recommend pressing. Place the flower on some plain white paper towels, lay another few towels on top and pile on 10+ BIG books to flatten. It can take awhile, maybe month or more.

  3. has anyone ever been to sedona, AZ? I’m going to tuscon in a few weeks and a friend suggested that I HAD to go to sedona. Do you think it’s worth a four hour drive? and just for those who are concerned, I will NOT be staying in a sweat lodge. thank you.

  4. Thanks Arkady…I’ll check that out too.

Another question…what is the best way to dry and preserve a single rose? I googled some stuff and saw everything from using wax paper and a microwave to newspaper and heavy books and time frames from 2 days to four weeks. Argh! Anything tried and true? (and easy?)
