  1. I agree w/ much of what Benson said earlier. Also think Silver is the person to get rid of.

  2. You really want to slit your wrist? Watch Bloomberg speaking Spanish at the end of his press conferences. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it, but make sure there are no sharp objects around.

  3. benson- I was out visiting my 101 year old uncle, otherwise I would have engaged you on the Bloomberg/republican/democratic issue 🙂

I must be the only one who thinks Dinkins never got a chance to prove himself. Our first Black mayor he was scrutinzed and practically demonized the second he walked into Gracie Mansion. They even made an issue out of his bedroom furniture. I will say he was no match for Giuliani’s nasty temperment.

As far as this being a one party town, well look around. Almost every state in the union is either one or the other and the bigger issue is why don’t the Republicans make a stronger showing in NYC? And maybe its because they aren’t addressing the things Nyers want addressed. Face it, it is a liberal town- at least more liberal than North Dakota. there is a wide range of political philosophies, but with the republicans making no attempt at hiding the contempt they feel for us, and misreading what the public is saying, I don’t see it changing anytime soon. And benson is right- its not good for NY to be this way, but you still have to ask why. And don’t put it off on demonizing liberals o.r democrats, or complaining about the unions. Get a message people can agree with, or one that can convince them the Republican party offers better choices
