Shall we now talk about irritating subway experiences?
My favorite is when you catch a seat in the morning and you’re trying to catch a few extra winks of sleep, and then the person next to you opens up their tupperware to have their breakfast. If you catch the right ethnic group, the breakfast will be highly “aromatic”.
Highest subway stop is easy — Smith/9. My vote for deepest (relative to griound above, not seal level, is 181 on the A or perhaps 63rd on the F.
Benson, you probably know this (or your engineering sensibility will appreciate this) but most subway stations are designed with a slight elevation in the track grade mid-train relative to the front and back. Helps brake the trains coming in and gives them a gentle gravity boost going out. Apparently this saves a fair amount of electricity usage over what would have been if the grade were flat.
CGar, you’ll need to venture over to the other OT to get the restaurant advice. DH, Bitter, and Brighton are much better sources than the bunch here (no disrespect to the old folks here)
Welcome!! Your PLUSA manual, tiara [may be delayed, we’re having production issues], and membership card are in the mail.
Please be advised that upon attending your first PLUSA gathering, you will be expected to buy the first round of shots. Identification of one or more PLUSAs will earn you extra credit.
Please send Snappy your membership dues by the 15th of the month, she gets cranky if you’re late, and we stop sending the newsletter after two late payments.
Also, please advise your boss that s/he needs to lighten your workload so that you can keep up with posting regularly. Spotty posting is frowned upon!!
