Mrs. C. makes Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce (and garlic) and it is wonderful. They also typically have it at dim sum (the plates of it are huge). It’s cheap as borscht to buy in Chinatown along Canal and a few of the side streets.

The Japanese serve roasted garlic in some Yakitori restaurants. Yes, heavenly. Thai garlic is less of a sharp taste, less pungent, more flavorful.
roasted eggplant + dried salted fish + tofu is tasty treat – at least for the Chinese palate
