“I also believe there was something about Aug. 28th being a day to provide gifts to you and me.”
Yes, especially gifts like spa gift certificates, Amex gift cards, actually pretty much any kind of gift card, and of course, we will be accepting COLD HARD CASH!! LOL!!
M4L, I think, to generalize, it seems the commonality between Chinese and Jewish parents is that that are typically very hard working and value education over almost everything else. My issue with the Jewish friends I had growing up is that they were so freaking spoiled from day one and just expected everything to be paid for – clothes, cars, education, homes, etc. They still ultimately did well in their own right because they had the fortune to be able to attend good schools and were mostly smart cookies.
That’s right Cobble. And, I also believe there was something about Aug. 28th being a day to provide gifts to you and me. It’s a real PLUSA rule folks 🙂
I was listening to them the other day & remembered this bit of weirdness:

Hmmm, PLUSA handshake?? Sorry, Cobble, I don’t know WHAT on earth you’re talking about.
