  1. Why don’t you just drop it, Legion? There are plenty of topics that don’t turn into rabid rubbish. Just because there’s a community of interest on this blog it doesn’t mean that everyone values the same things. Turn your attention to lighting schemes or feline fashions. Everyone knows where you & Benson stand – it doesn’t need further elucidation & you’re not going to change anyone’s mind.

  2. Allow me to make a plea before today’s OT goes full tilt on the political/racial/religious talk today. First off, I like that the OT has now obtained some substantive talk. Even though not all of us participate in the conversation, we do read it and, speaking for myself, I learn a little something from everyone’s point of view. Just please, please, let’s not let this dissolve into finger wagging, eye poking, name calling and general frothing at the mouth. And I’m saying this to all the participants. It makes the arguments set forth totally worthless and a waste of time (plus disgusting) to read. We are all adults here. Let’s treat each other with respect when we disagree.

  3. CG Ups, I was in Hope and Anchor right after 9am on a Saturday before and it was open and yummy breakfast. If it’s closed, you can always go to Fairway’s cafeteria and enjoy a nice breakfast right on the waterfront.

  4. Montrose Morris,
    the same goes for you,

your post demanded a response in kind.

    montrose morris,
How can I take you seriously when you start your argument by saying that I am drinking some sort of Kool-aid? I mean I like to have a fruit punch once in a while but your implication that I am amongst the likes of Jim Jones followers is clearly disproven by my previous posts.

like I told bxgrl, you also seem to equate a white majority as something necessarily bad, I do not. It is the historical legacy of this nation and may change in the future according to demographic projections. I take things at face value, my experience in the Republican party is as I have stated, one of inclusion and shared beliefs in conservative values.
Bxgrl’s derisive comments against Clarence Thomas for instance could rightfully be labeled racist in themselves, in that she (as a white woman) seeks to define his views and his experience through the eyes of other people of color (which she is not). In other words she not only presumes to speak for other black people in condemning him and his views for not being liberal but also defining how he should be voting on the Supreme Court and implying that this man who has strong religious convictions and arose from poverty and the historical legacy of racism, should somehow be beholden to a white liberal establishment. Bxgrl reduces this accomplished individual of color to nothing but a puppet on a string, why? Because he is a conservative Christian who follows his beliefs, of course.
montrose, your implication that I am somehow preaching down to the minorities in my own community is again, presumptous. I have stated that I continue to work in Health Physican Shortage Areas of NYC. As I have all my career. I have never abandoned my community but have always sought to continue aiding those in need. And I have done plenty of that over the years both in time and money. Futhermore, I strongly believe that the single best thing one can do for one’s community is to set a positive example and continue that example with one’s family as I continue to do.

But this isn’t about me, It is about resetting the background and default idea amongst many that because a person has conservative views they must automatically be wacked out.

Now, I’ll take my orange kool-aid with ice.

  5. I’ve been to both in the past month DH and they are gorgeous. New Paltz restuarants were packed the weekend I was there. Very happening place in the summer. Ithaca was busy as well but I was there for a wedding July 4th weekend.

  6. I havent made the other vet appt. yet. A pal of mine is digging up some info for me on another low cost clinic specifically for kittens where they are likely to have what Hari needs in the correct dose and it would only cost me like $10-15.

  7. Rob,

As ashamed as I am to get your reference, if those girls were indeed “prepping” in Peekskill, they were not hanging out downtown (except for Jo, perhaps). I’ll have to ask my sister.
