bxgrl, I don’t want the cat-dog divide to get in the way of our e-marriage. It’s just that I’m a dog person. But, not only do I not hate cats, but I take care of multiple cats for 2 friends when they vacation, even though I’m terribly allergic.
WonTon…I most enjoy the obsession that Asians have with the elevator “Close Door” button. The weekend color section of the SCMP many years ago did a funny story on it that basically figured out, when you add up all the time the Close Door button is pushed, how uch time is saved over many years.
For you people who have not been to Asia, inlike here, the “Close Door” button does actually close the door when pressed.
You typically would press it as soon as you enter the elevator so that it does not stay open for anyone else trying to board.
Also, in preparation for boarding an elevator you would stand right in front of the doors of the elevator that is signalled to arrive next. It doesn’t matter if there are people who would be getting off, you stand right in front, same as with the subway car doors.
Of course I will be subtracting the sour cream (yech!) and adding oven roasted garlic. My mom told me to add crumbled bacon to it. Think she’s trying to kill me? Ha!
Asian plusas: ok now I get it – I just wondered that maybe Asian countries didn’t create huge cow/pig/chicken based farms that we have in the west, hence eating of dogs – do they have dog farms that are used for food?
Cargar…nice try. Now get back in the corner!
Kens, next time you’ll park, and I’ll introduce you to the CGardog.

Someday I’ll explain to all of you what PAVIS is.
It has to do with Asia and is a bit more politically incorrect than PLUSA but it is firmly based in experiences.

rob, did you see the article in “Tuesday Links”:
“Animal cruelty, torture charges for Brooklyn man who threw dog off roof”.
The guy threw his pitbull, Oreo, off the roof of his 6-story building in Red Hook. The dog miraculously survived. I hope the guy gets the max.
“Asian plusas…”
Ok, for some reason that cracked me up!
While we are on food, here is a recipe I plan to try for dinner tonight:
