m4l, all that footage of Japanese subway cars and the “people pushers” was from the bubble years of the eighties. It really isn’t an issue there anymore….trains more frequent, economy bad for 20 yeras, etc.
I haven’t had trouble getting a taxi at any hour in Tokyo since about 1991.

We had agreed on a p.c. term for meter maids but I can’t remember what it was other than the fact that it incorporated the term facist or sadistic
