Dibs – Yes, whole vs. skim makes a huge diff.
Julia Child has a nearly fool-proof pain ordinaire (not a dig at you, I made it easily the first time) – I’ll try to find which book it’s in.
Well, 5$ is high but if my e-hubby really loved me (as he said on friday), he would have no problem rushing out every Sunday and getting me the virtual edition of the NYT hot off the cyberpresses 🙂
(In return I will allow him to watch FoxNews- that bastion of objective reporting and quality journalism- every day 😉
I wasn’t commenting on your taste in sandwiches so much as concurring in why you wouldn’t know who eats challah.
I don’t keep kosher, and have no problem with ham and mayo (on a hero, or 7 grain, etc.). But something in my cultural sensibilities is offended by putting this combo on rye. I either go yid or goy on my sandwiches, but rarely mix up the two.

I put mustard on all my sandwiches, sometimes ketchup or maybe red wine vinegar
I love a good sourdough bread and a nice rye, a great crossiant is amazing
in Brooklyn, who do you all think makes an amazing almond crossiant?
