bxgrl, since I don’t watch Fox News, can I presume you’re addressing your OTHER e-husband?! And to think of all the nice things I said about you yesterday!
“Just wanted to say thanks so much to Montrose for the Crown Heights walking tour yesterday! We looked at an incredible variety of buildings & learnt a bunch. Then went off to Tavern on Nostrand for food & drinks (of course..).”
I want joining in thanking MM for a great walking tour of Crown Heights North yesterday! She’s going to be a tough act for any of us to follow.
And there was a unanimous PLUSA recommendation of Tavern on Nostrand as ROTD! (4pm wasn’t too early for cocktails, was it?)
Oh the things an e-wife demands!! OK,I’ll have to hold my nose on this one.
The apt comparison is not to Fox News, but to the Wall St. Journal. I have noticed that in the past three or four years serious thinkers on the left (guys like Robert Reich, Paul Kennedy, Alan Blinder and Larry Summers) write their essays in the op-ed pages of the WSJ, as do serious thinkers on the right. In both cases, serious, reasoned proposals are put forth, with little invective or cycnicism.
The op-ed pages of the NYT has been turned over to snarksters (Maureen Dowd),cycnics (Frank Rich) or fear-mongerers (Paul Krugman).
A serious question: can someone really point to a serious polemic that has been written in the NYT in the recent past?
DIBS, I was going offer you my mother’s amazing challah recipe if you want it. It’s like eating cake. You can just keep slicing away at it, and you don’t need to put anything on it.
I’m with you slopefarm. I just don’t do ham on challah – which oddly surprised me a I never thought about it before you mentioned it. I love ryr bread as long as its seedless- hate hate hate caraway seeds.
How has Pia adjusted to Tidbit???

The rosemary focaccia you get at Au Bon Pain, when traveling, it’s a lifesaver!
“Who eats challah, Arkady?”
