youd be shocked how many people i met in harlem that way when i lived there hahahah
Biff, last summer I walked from the northern end of Greenpoint back home to Ditmas Park. I went through Williamsburg, past the Navy Yard, then Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Prospect Park, and back home. This year I’d like to do something similar but take a more easterly swing – maybe Bushwick, Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, PLG, and then to Ditmas Park, probably on a Sunday in August. I’d love to have PLUSA company and assistance anywhere along the trail!
I went to VT last weekend, where I grew up, and was more frightened of the kids playing hackysack in the downtown parking lot than I ever was walking around the streets of Brooklyn. There’s a narrow-mindedness factor in small town type places that I just don’t know how to deal with anymore (though that kind of makes me sound narrow minded!). Those kids can harass and be really mean and threatening to you if you look a little different. It’s a little weird.
Biff, in addition to the High Line, I’m always up for a good walking tour if you’re looking for a fellow explorer. I’d offer to bring the dog for protection, but, as it happens, I have the world’s friendliest Chow so she’d be of absolutely no use!
Biff, sis does post but not on the OT. She does state her opinions on some of the HOTD and other related threads if she has time because her job is pretty demanding most of the time. You can probably figure her out easily if you see the post. Her name is VERY similar to mine AND she writes way better and more articulate than me by far.
She does want to come to the Brownstoner shindig and I think she might be up for the 6th to Ellis.
Rob, what’s the rush? Get them right, you’re only six years late…
CH, I spose some SSRIs are OK, but they often go along with benzos, which are addictive and nasty. And then people take them for their whole life. If the cause of the problem is chemical, it’s one thing, but if it’s not, why bother?
sixyears…we could do a walking thing where various PLUSAs open up their houses for drinks along the way. It could be called a PLUSA Crawl.

My friends all make bad decisions; such as agreeing to be my friend.
