  1. Alitheia, I know you are knew here but we back our theories with examples here, otherwise you’ll be brushed off as WHAT. what makes you think the economy will get worse? Can you give specific examples as to how and why?

Do you mean that a standard of living will get worse for an average person?

  2. Rob, Have you given any more thought to finding a therapist? It can be very helpful, and you do seem a bit down, but amazingly resilient. Some therapists will work a payment with you via ‘sliding scale’ or for very little $$.

  3. Kens, thanks. Why is it every Russian male knows how to fight? I think all those American propoganda films in the ’80s that featured a Russian villain getting his ass kicked by an American patriot gave us a false sense of security. Seems like the average American male wouldn’t stand a chance in a fight against the average Russian male. Perhaps it’s the military training there?

  4. Rob,

All I can say is that you’re not the only one. We all joke around economy and jobs on here but I am sure quite a few of us feel the same way as you. I’ll tell you my views but not on here. We’ll have to get drunk at the next get together and discuss. I still owe you a drink BTW that you didn’t cash out on in Draft Barn.

  5. If you want to feel better about your life, just feel that happiness that comes from knowing that your life is nowhere near as sad as “What’s.”

Also, the economy will get worse, so enjoy things as they are now. Cherish the memories you create in these next few years.

  6. I am not sure if I will regret posting this here, but whatever. I could probably get more objective advice here than anywhere else i’d ask around.

Maybe i’m dense or something, but I didn’t realize it before, but i’ve come to realize that basically all of my friends are on drugs. Also, my 1/2 brother and 1/2 sister (17 and 18) are also using. The only person in my life who doesnt use was my ex boyfriend, who up until about 2 months ago, i considered my best friend and we always hung out. When he found a new boyfriend he told me he couldn’t see me anymore and dropped all forms of communication. I didn’t fight it thought, because i can completely understand where he is coming from. sort of.

I’ve been so completely down about the whole economy thing in general. I totally notice less people on the train in the morning (not just because it’s summer either, i’ve noticed it even last winter and in the fall, but it’s even worse now). Granted I don’t miss a crowded train but when i see empty seats on it during rush hour in the morning i get panicky looking around thinking when the next shoe will drop and it’s my turn. does anyone else feel this way? On the morning news every morning i swear there is always so segment about how to feel better in this crisis, but it’s always stupid stuff like making sure to buy shoes or making yourself a nice dessert.

I think this upcoming fall is going to be catastrophic and im not just channelling the what (he is on my sh-t list these days btw), it just is and i feel like everyone really does have blinders on, but for good reason.

Any advice on how to get thru this horrible feeling?!

sorry i dont mean to be a whiner OR a debbie downer this morning (seriously those kinds of people are SO annoying)

did anyone watch the finale of Charm School last night? I wont say who won in case anyone DVR’d it, but it was good, i actually shed a couple of tears watching it. Ricki Lake was a good host this season, and the whole season was rather kinda sad because they focused on negative stuff, last season with Sharon Osbourne had great people on the show but it was lame what sharon focused on. nothing will ever match the first season of charm school with one of my personal heroes, Mo’Nique!
