oh the coolness factor could be true. maybe they are heated in the winter as well? i still think they are ugly. i dont want the feel of a bathroom or kitchen where im sleeping or watching tv.
i actually do like carpet a lot, primarily cuz i grew up with it. carpet can get nasty if you have animals though, but i guess if you shampoo it every once in a while youll be fine. ive always had a carpet even on wood floors in my room cuz i spend most of my time in doors on the floor. (not wall to wall carpeting or anything), but recently i threw out my carpet cuz i thought it was carrying ringworm (dont ask) and now i like just having the bare wood floor. i polished it on my knees last week wall to wall with pledge and this other cleaner and it’s so slippery it makes my roommate’s eldery dog plop over.
I’m with you re tiled floors Rob – so cold and unappealing. If I lived anywhere that had them I’m sure I would break my jaw eventually from slipping and falling so much.
Carpet can be OK in the right place (rewrites welcome) but generally does not suit NYC apartments.
snappy, rob- I know! I always hated carpet. I don’t know though about tile in hot climates. Seems that tile floors would feel cooler? But I still want wood.
they are also good at systematically running local coffee shops out of business
what is it about starbucks you dont support randi? they are actually very good to employees (so ive heard).

Starbucks owns Clover Equipment Company. I wouldn’t support that.

Snappy…I have carpet in the bedroom up on the Cape and in PA. After years of wood floors in so many places, carpetting in the bedroom is quite nice.
PS It does match the drapes!!!! 🙂
