  1. “3) Mirrors on Grand – it was quiet enough, but there was no outdoor space and likely insufficient indoor space. And, as DH pointed out, PBR should never be more than $2 a can.”

Did you guys see any shady activity going on? This is the place Mr. Brownstoner claimed in a post some time ago needed to be “checked out” by police. Then he dummied up when some posters (including me) asked what exactly raised his suspicions. I’m curious to know what the scene is like over there (never been).

  2. Thanks mopar! I was worried for our safety, initially. You can’t imagine how scary it feels to be a middle aged (speaking for myself), unsuspecting, mangia cake, gentrifying-looking, pathetic-loser-Caucasion-asshat walking around the terrifying ghettos known as Clinton Hill and Fort Greene, but fortunately Amzi joined in to give us some much needed street cred. This of course was only after he was stopped and invited in to something like 25 different homes on his way to meeting us. Apparently he is the King of Brownstone Brooklyn.

  3. “Teresa’s having that house built because, “I don’t want to live in someone else’s house–that’s gross.” ”

Ha ha, you guys ever read the rental listings that say “Brand new house — nobody ever lived in it before” (with misspellings) and the photos clearly show a renovated (horribly renovated) apartment? Idiocy.

Brooklyn Yard: Cute place to relax with a book. We would go back on a day with no cover charge. We didn’t want to listen to loud DJ music. They have chairs, tacos, beer, and wine. They lack margaritas and artisinal ice cream.

Biff et al, impressive reconnaissance and planning for our next party. Thank you.

  4. haha sixyears – If we were going to stay at Mirrors longer I was going to try a “notorious BIG” – which was a combination of henny and pineapple if i recall correctly. (which would have been a very bastardized sidecar cocktail)

  5. “8) Kif Moroccan Restaurant – this one wasn’t on our list but looked interesting.”

Rewrite: “this one wasn’t on our list but the waitress looked interesting” I was disappointed they don’t have sheesha (aka hookah) to smoke.

“3) Mirrors on Grand – it was quiet enough, but there was no outdoor space and likely insufficient indoor space. And, as DH pointed out, PBR should never be more than $2 a can.”

The Sam Adams was only $4, so maybe their pricing scheme is a bit off, or they’re trying to keep the PBR-guzzling Pratt-going hipsters out.

Anyway, great to see you all out there! Hangover wasn’t that bad, CH, as there was plenty of time for walking in between stops.
