  1. Bob, I remeber the separate Washington’s and Lincoln’s Birthday holidays. (Though I guess I’m older than chicken.) Nothing like two 3-day weekends in quick succession.

Bob, are you joining us at Last Exit on Thursday to bid chicken bon voyage?

  2. hahahah bob that’s funny about a washington’s cake… i always felt like we had washingtons day and abe lincoln’s day as seperate too, then they merged them i guess recently? definitely since ive been in school i think. i always like lincoln’s birthday and felt like he should get his own day. he was an Aquarius btw!! i think his birthday is the 12th of february.. not sure. i dont get what the big deal is about george washington that made him get his own day. just cuz someone was first at something doesnt mean they are special or were even good for that matter.

I’m young in mind, if not in body

  4. Rob,

Re: Presidents Day; when I was a kid and we celebrated Washington’s and Lincoln’s birthdays separately, I remember my mother buying Washington’s Birthday cakes–cherry (pink-iced) logs with chocolate axes (for the the young G. W.’s apocryphal cherry tree and not being able to tell a lie, etc. That was more fun than President’s Day (but not all that much fun in absolute terms). Some holidays ARE boring.
