McDonald's on Tillary Closes!
We received word through a tipster yesterday that the McDonald’s at 169 Tillary Street, a long-time fixture in Downtown Brooklyn, had closed. We received word through a tipster yesterday that the McDonald’s at 169 Tillary Street, a long-time fixture in Downtown Brooklyn, had closed. Sure enough, that was the case when we went by this morning. According to signs up in the windows, the fast food giant lost its lease after, we’re guessing, 20 years. The property does not appear to have changed hands recently nor have any new building permits been applied for. Anyone know what the plan is? 11217,
…the image of testicles and a waffle iron is making me cringe here!
The McDonald’s on Atlantic and Logan (I think) in East New York used to have a bullet proof glass wall at the front counter. This was in the 1980’s-early 90’s. I kid you not. haven’t seen that in a McD’s since.
because waffle house is awesome and delicious.
why a waffle house?
I think its great news! I hope they all start closing down. Bring on healthy alternatives – actual real healthy food instead of the poison they serve up!
Etson,
There are a couple things I’d bet my testicles on with regard to money makers in Brooklyn:
1. A waffle house (pretty much anywhere in BK) and
2. A trader Joe’s in Park Slope
Both are potential goldmines.
“Bring in a waffle house! :)”
I would be there every chance I got. Waffle House is the best.
I just heard that it’s going to be an Arby’s
HA. There used to be noplace around there to eat except for the McDonalds, and now there isn’t even a McDonalds. Glad I don’t live up there anymore.
McDonalds Corp has determined that this is a gentification candidate area and, as such, is suitable for the installation of the next generation of “Luxury McDonalds”
