dave, did MrHancock buy your house? He’s obsessed with what it’s worth.
@bowlofdicks Basic statistics data on the neighborhood is the actual truth, not anecdotal evidence.
‘not easily carried’????? I drive to Lowes just to get a pack of screws. True story.
@wheeeee –
“So no, people in these family-oriented neighborhoods aren’t driving for their weekly groceries, on average.”
Have you ever been to Fairway or Costco on weekends? (probably not because……. you do not own a car)
I REST MY CASE.
@bowlofdicks – Let’s take Park Slope for example: the average number of households with cars there is half of the average for the city as a whole (which the majority of the city already doesn’t have cars). So no, people in these family-oriented neighborhoods aren’t driving for their weekly groceries, on average.
LOL that you’re sad Gowanus is zoned for commercia. You do know the history of Gowanus and the canal, right?
Look up a definition of “ad hominem” 🙂
Ah, the good ole ad hominem.
Does anyone HAVE to shop at Whole Foods? Once this is open it will be the first time I’ve lived even remotely near one and my life has been completely fine so far. Everyone who shops at the Home Depot in Flatiron seems to have survived without there being a parking lot there, as well.
It’s a nice convenience to have for people who happen to have cars, but I mean, come on, this is NYC, not Atlanta. A parking lot that is twice the size of the Whole Foods itself is waste potential for any number of things that could be built on that space.
