A bunch of news outlets covered the groundbreaking at the new skating rink in Prospect Park, which will replace the old Wollman Rink. $54 million of the total $70 million needed has been raised for the project, which includes a LEED-certified green building, two outdoor skating rinks, and the restoration of the original landscape design. Finally, a place where there won’t be strolloers in your way.
Wow, it looks beautiful!
The ice / water had better be fair trade and cruelty free too. Otherwise I’m going to call myself an investigative journalist and write a piece in the Brooklyn Paper exposing the corruption of the park officials and their power-hungry back room deals.
I hear they’re using a solar powered tractor to skim the ice.
Organic water is absolutely critical DIBS. I simply will not skate there unless it’s certified organic.
I had goose liver pate on ice.
You ever seen a goose on ice????
