New Coffee Spot for 5th Avenue
A new coffee place has moved into the spot at 162 5th Avenue, the old ‘Love=?’ storefront. It’s called Venticinque and looks pretty nice. (The blog Here’s Park Slope posted some interior photos earlier this week.) Has anyone popped in yet? Think it will be much competition to Gorilla Coffee, which is a few blocks…

Rob, not true. You might be thinking of the moka pots.
Rob -I have never heard that
they suggest rinsing out the main caraffe part of a machine with a water and vinegar solution b/c of the coffee bean oil
Rob can’t afford coffee anyway because he pays more of a premium in rent to live in Park Slope in PS 321’s zoned area when he doesn’t even have kids.
actually you are not supposed to wash coffee pots, makers, and caraffes (sp?) because the crystallization process that occurs makes the coffee taste better. something like that..

IJ – I couldn’t agree more – CROISSANTS are Gifts from Heaven !
Blue Sky Bakery actually has very good coffee
Rob – calm down – geez I like Sugar – whatever! have your toilet water Bodega coffee all you want – you really think those dudes in the Bodega are even washing that machine?
HELLS NO!
beans are important (and counter culture is tasty) – but the most important thing in a coffee shop is how they brew the stuff.
a french pressed/slow dripped cup of dunkin donuts beans will prolly taste better than a burnt cup of stumptown.
“the bodega on 4th avenue off of union street’s coffee is 10x better and 10x cheaper. and they don’t obnoxiously request tips.”
Rob, when you can come up with a business model where you create something thats 10 times better and 10 times cheaper, let me know so I can invest. I guess the bodega coffee is 20 cents and much better? And you obviously know this because as you said, you never actually tried the coffee.
I have no idea why some people find you annoying. 😉
