A reader sent in this pic of a car crash that happened this morning on 5th Avenue between 6th and 7th streets. The Brooklyn Paper reported the following on it: “A reckless driver flew through an intersection and slammed into a police car and a parked car on Fifth Avenue early Tuesday morning. One witness said the car was doing at least 70 mph when it tore through the intersection of Sixth Street, smashing into an Impala before ricocheting into a police car that had paused in the middle of the street.” The paper said the condition of the person in the Impala was unknown.

  1. Read the Brooklyn Paper article — makes it sound very unlikely that the guy in the black Dodge Charger was a cop. (He immediately tried to hide his drugs.)

  2. That black car most definitely screams unmarked police car. The typical police behavior in my neighborhood is to swarm after a call from all directions and converge near the Fulton / Flatbush / Ashland / Dekalb trapezoid before tearing off to the crime scene. Only a matter of time . . .

  3. Maly — so, he hit two police cars.

(Though, plenty of people drive Impalas. Not sure why… but I’m not one to talk given my 14 year old beauty!)
