A reader sent in this pic of a car crash that happened this morning on 5th Avenue between 6th and 7th streets. The Brooklyn Paper reported the following on it: “A reckless driver flew through an intersection and slammed into a police car and a parked car on Fifth Avenue early Tuesday morning. One witness said the car was doing at least 70 mph when it tore through the intersection of Sixth Street, smashing into an Impala before ricocheting into a police car that had paused in the middle of the street.” The paper said the condition of the person in the Impala was unknown.

  1. Neither nor, Mackenzie. My first boyfriend was a cop wannabe; to this day I can smell an unmarked cop car a mile away and I still remember the rules of what to do if stopped. It came in handy when Giuliani was our dear leader.

  2. lol!
    what an appalling thread.
    no adult supervision.
are you guys all really hood bros or are you bourged-out and pretending to be poorly educated and macho?
    i’m very impressed
    ……though not really.

  3. > This is shocking…that burnt out building is still sitting idle on 5th ave?!

I believe the city now owns that building, so I suppose that means it will continues to sit and decay. With the VFW hall next door, and the two dumpy buildings next to that, it is a cluster virtually impervious to gentrification.

  4. “Read the Brooklyn Paper article — makes it sound very unlikely that the guy in the black Dodge Charger was a cop. (He immediately tried to hide his drugs.)

Apparently you don’t know that many cops.
