Bushwick BK brings us the “Ocean Blue Residence,” a new development in Bushwick renting units from $1,000 to $3,000. Despite the checkerboard exterior – which the developer deemed a “piece of art” – the theme is carried on with blue walls, blue lights, and murals on every floor of blue oceans and skies. Some neighbors like it, others don’t, but the once-run down and abandoned building has become a neighborhood attraction. The developer plans to continue the checkerboard theme on another building at Greene and Wyckoff. Next color scheme: lavender.

the comments on BushwickBK are funny. i love that site.
Love the exterior – freaked out by the interior.
Vivacious but…temporary-looking. Like one of those bus-wrap ads.
Not sure what to make of this. Doesn’t look too bad but wouldn’t want to live in / near it.
Hideous and cheap looking.
Suits the neighborhood just fine though. Have you SEEN the rest of that block??
some of you people are really boring – your old dark brownstones full of dusty antiques suit you well
This is quite awful looking. How are people supposed to decorate the inside with all those beachy scenes? Wicker furniture?
I think its delightful. What a nice treat to go home to in the winter months. I do think after a year it would get old, but who knows!
are they kidding???????????????????
