I tried to get my cats to help, now dice. They alway want to run outside. This morning they stuck their noses out and quickly went back inside to snuggle by the radiator.
Oh please, I’m home for the holidaze in central New Jersey and I have nearly 15 inches to shovel in front of a dinky little 1950’s cape cod, including a mountain that has accumulated on the driveway. I envy the dusting of snow you got on your stoops.
And of course, I could hop on the Benson hate wagon for today, but it’s the holidays so we’ll let him be smug in his condo.
The scariest thing was driving yesterday. I really made a mistake in judgement going to an afternoon dinner in Staten Island. It was ok driving out, but what a dumb move…..driving back was downright dangerous. It took me an hour and a half and the BQE was terrifying.
Mine is worst than the photo also. I was able to shovel myself down the stoop but couldn’t get on the side walk because the snow was almost as high as I am tall. Couldn’t get out downstairs either. Right now I am trapped in the house till the guy shoveling makes a path.
“DIBS, how can you tell they are Japanese? My daughter has a friend from school who complains that everyone says she is Russian when she is, in fact, Ukranian.”
Wow, talk about splitting hairs! If she complains, one should say “who gives a f–k?” I’m as proud of my ethnic identity as the next but I’m getting tired of everyone needing their recognition, their parade, etc. for just how special and unique they are. How about being happy to be American? And really, can you expect the average person who didn’t come from eastern Europe to know the difference between Ukranian and Russian? Do they look different? Ukraine was part of the Russian empire. This strikes me as absurd like the way Hong Kong people sometimes like to insist, “I’m from Hong Kong, not China.” When their city is part of that country. Maybe we’re supposed to say “I’m from NY, not the US.”
Anyway, rant over. The way you can tell they are Japanese, as they are “adults” playing in the snow. The stereotype is actually an accurate one
