DIBS, how can you tell they are Japanese? My daughter has a friend from school who complains that everyone says she is Russian when she is, in fact, Ukranian. But she calls all East Asian kids Chinese, be they Japanese, Korean or Chinese.
I commented to a neighbor that over the past years, since I’ve been here in Brooklyn, I had never really seem guys walking around with shovels looking for shovelling jobs. This year there are quite a few of them. Gotta be the economy.
i havent really been outside since it was snowing, is it really that bad? glad i have off this cuz i dont have boots!!! im not sure what im going to do. newspapers? are the bodegas at least open?
I am at work. I thought…what the hell, it won’t be so hard. This after I spent an hour and a half watching the news and then shoveling. Then I hopped on the train and no problem.
I shovelled last night at midnight; I guess that made some valleys in the snow, I just shovelled enough this morning so that the tenants could make it down the steps. I also like shoveling. The boys in the hood usually show up after I have done it.
No Dibs, no way I am putting salt on those steps….
Feeders are busy – gold & house finches, doves(18!), cardinal (gorgeous against the snow), juncos, chickadees, sparrows. Cats are about to paw through the windows.
benson, sitting there looking at your drywall walls without any architectural detail, no fireplace or nice hardwood floors with mahogany greek key borders and 13′ ceilings????
Also, opening your door to a hallway of neighbors cooking smells from all over creation????
I mangered to shovel half my stoop. Have a guy out there now tackling the rest, the problem is the, they the no place to put the snow. He shoveled from the ist floor doot the side walk. The show is my garden is almost 5 feet high.
Snow shoveling is good exercise. I’ve already had people ringing my bell asking if I want them to shovel, so. if I didn’t WANT to do it (or wasn’t so cheap–your choice) I could spend $20 0r $30 to have it done. As it is, I’ll have a cup of coffee and go out and shovel in a few minutes (and enjoy it) 🙂

Benson,

Snow’s so fluffy it’s easy to shovel – doesn’t hold an angel very well though.
