Denton!!!!!!!! – omg Manhattan are SO EXPENSIVE! we are off warranty and they quoted us $2300 for shock and strut mounts – which yes agreed had never been done on the car and is a big job – but almost $3K – GTFOH – yes I have read on bimmeforum about Bay Diagnostics…
rf- hmm – do you mean MR. LI? who seems to have great reviews and I think is in gowanus on President?
Snaps – perhaps you saw my hubby? black man with dreadlocks and a huge green coat? he was just on 5th avenue marveling at how bad it is! haaa
Bobjohn- oh well I think you and Denton are about to drag race b/c according to him AWD is better out the gate and on the rough roads of nyc…..

I’ve often mentioned that I am completely disgusted at the decline of American manufacturing and the inability of Americans to see that.
total agreeance about the quality aspect im sure… but for most people it does come down to what they can afford, tho im sure some of them would be better off buying a good used car versus a brand new car that will give them problems down the road. my grandparents always bought american cars, and im not sure how well they did. they never actually broke down that i remember, but they did always trade in every few years which i thought was a total waste of money but my grandmother wanted to be some sort of princess with her cars even tho they were lower end shitty cars, but they were new. pretty much the only thing that did matter was the color of the car. they would have been better off saving for a down payment on a house instead of scamming it with new cars and living in the projects :-/
Denton – Try Lorenzutti. (I’ll save you the bother & take the car in for you to see if I can hook up w/ the hot owner.)
I miss chains on tires for snow – love the sound of chains.
“A snow plow was stuck on 6th Avenue, having crashed into a car. Eeeks.”
snappy, was that black car taxi? That mofo has been there since at least 7AM. I guess according to some union reg, he’s not allowed to leave until he files an accident report, and the cops have better things to do.

5th Ave in the 20s looks like they are filming a remake of REM’s video to ‘Everybody Hurts’ (anyone remember that?)

Gem, I could barely see any faces…bright sun, wind whipping snow into my glasses…I was like Mr. Magoo out there!

I got pics of two ladies skiing down the street. I had to laugh, but they were getting farther faster than I or anyone else.

Denton, no, the plow was crashed into a parked car, but the black livery car is nearby and still sitting there.
Ha! Rob, I swear I began looking to see Michael Stipe come walking down the middle of the street.
