Mayonnaise Store Now Open in Prospect Heights

Over the weekend the artisanal mayonnaise company Empire Mayo opened its small shop at 564 Vanderbilt Avenue in Prospect Heights. So says the Brooklyn Ink: “On the store’s opening day it gave away deviled eggs—made with local, fresh eggs and three of their flavored mayonnaises, White Truffle, Red Chili and Smoked Paprika—as well as glasses of champagne, store coupons and mini samples of their products.” The gourmet mayo, which comes in 12 difference flavors, is priced between $6-8 for each 4-ounce jar. The store will also serve as the company’s processing place, as the owners sell weekends at Smorgasburg. Storefront hours aren’t set, but the shop will most likely be open 10am-6pm weekdays, and 1pm-4pm weekends. Here are some of the various mayo flavors.
