Consider this our early Valentine’s Day gift to you and your loved one, because nothing says “I love you” (or “I love Brooklyn”) quite like getting four free tickets to watch the Nets go up against the Memphis Grizzlies on February 10 at Barclays Center.

The Brooklyn Bridge. Photo by Mary Hautman

If you’ve been exploring the Instagram search button today, you may have noticed the large banner featuring a photo of the Brooklyn Bridge titled “2015 in review The Top 100 Locations.” To no surprise, one of Instagram’s most geo-tagged destinations around the globe is in fact the Brooklyn Bridge, which ranked No. 18 on the list.

Autumn in Brooklyn is a season of discoveries, where every leaf is a new flower and the first signs of sweater weather lure residents out into crisp sun-kissed afternoons. And so was the case on Sunday, when Brownstoner visited the annual Greenpointers Fall Market for a full day of live entertainment, shopping courtesy of 50-plus vendors, and activities, including henna tattooing (our favorite part of the day).

On September 22 we launched an Instagram photo challenge that pays tribute to the late Joseph Lee Sweeney and his iconic “Doors of Brooklyn” poster. To commemorate the first anniversary of his passing, we asked our readers to submit their own photos of their favorite Brooklyn doors.

On October 24, Sweeney’s birthday, we will present a second homage to his work with a new poster featuring 30 doors from your submissions!

To join the photo challenge, post your favorite door on Instagram along with the hashtag #thedoorsofbrooklyn and the tag @brownstoner. You can also send photos directly to maude [at] brownstoner [dot] com.
