Greenpointers fall market

Autumn in Brooklyn is a season of discoveries, where every leaf is a new flower and the first signs of sweater weather lure residents out into crisp sun-kissed afternoons. And so was the case on Sunday, when Brownstoner visited the annual Greenpointers Fall Market for a full day of live entertainment, shopping courtesy of 50-plus vendors, and activities, including henna tattooing (our favorite part of the day).

The Foliage & Foragers-themed event was held in the historic Greenpoint Loft, known for its original raw warehouse aesthetic and a rooftop that boasts panoramic views of the NYC skyline.

It was a perfect fall day for the market, and its vibrant shoppers came out in droves to enjoy the seasonal libations, mouth-watering eats and eclectic finds. Maple donuts and hot spicy buttered rum were among the treats.

The event celebrates and showcases Greenpoint retailers and makers, from artist collective HeART by Hand to an aromatic organic skincare line by Oxalis Apothecary to Sunny Eye Shop‘s luxury frames. The market is put on by Greenpointers, the Greenpoint-focused events and blog company founded in 2007. We got a chance to meet publisher and owner Julia Moak, who was out and about with her camera.
