  1. I love Philly and just loving this idea. I hope it works. Will Gabby be living down there or relying on stringers? There’s a lot of local lore and history and I hope you folks will sufficiently immerse yourselves in it.

Gabby, make sure you visit Eastern Penitentiary, Magic Gardens, textile row, Chinatown, the Barnes before it moves, and stroll through a bunch of hoods. Lots of great walking.

  2. When I’m in Bucks County, I always tell people there that I’m from Philly if I’m using them for some service with an unfdefined fee. People down there generally do not take to New Yorkers.

Many of the New Yorkers I’ve met down there are quite nice though.

  3. Congrats on both accounts. Philly is a great choice. I share reservations about the name, but have nothing new to add. People love to argue about neighborhoods and architecture down there, so this should do well. And the ROTD Philly threads are gonna make some folks up here jealous.

  4. Congratulations on your continued growth. Normally, I have neither time, energy nor inclination for Brownstoner debates, but have to agree with the supporters of “Rowhouser.” (Or something similar, since the domain’s already claimed.) The dogged attachment to Brownstoner in a market that calls it’s homes rowhouses, is a thunderous echo of the gentrification debate, where newcomers enter and tell oldtimers that they know better who/what/how it’s done. No loss to your brand by using the Rowhouser name, and potential for lots of respect for being conscious that Philly is NOT the 6th borough. BTW, one of the NYC LPC’s older publications is the ROWHOUSE style manual: http://bit.ly/66RLYa
