  1. also a former Brooklynite now living in a 100-year old renovated rowhome in Philly (for about the cost of a studio apartment in Bed-Stuy)…

    Brownstoner coming to Philly — great! Calling it Brownstoner…really, really, bad idea!

    Seriously, this is a town deeply proud of its singular architecture and deeply disdainful of New York’s sloppy seconds. Never mention that sixth borough crap. If you don’t change the name you will never have any credibility in Philly. There are no brownstones here. You will be laughed out of town…besides which it is disrespectful to the classic architecture of the city which is the charm of this site. You might as well go to San Francisco and call the site Brownstoner…how stupid would that sound?

    Rowhouser, on the other hand, is as Philly as Rocky Balboa.

  2. Great news re Philly. We used to live around Fitler Square. The diversity of housing in Philadelphia is amazing, from the original rowhouses in Old CIty, the mansions of Chestnut Hill, the brownstones on Delancey St., the Trinities of the River Wards, the eclecticism of West Philly…plus, everything is available at any price point.

  3. Mr. B;

    5000 is a pittance compared to the number who have moved to Monmouth county in the past 20 years.

    Anyway, I previously forgot to wish you best of luck in your new endeavor.
