Most notably, some people have reported the site getting hung up when they scroll down or try to type a comment. In an effort to pinpoint the problem, we’d appreciate specific feedback about issues you’ve experienced along with info about what type of computer and browser you are using. Thanks.
One thing I have noticed during some freezes is that at the bottom of my screen where it shows what the page is doing, it gets stuck on something that says “getclicky” or something like that. Is that a cookie thing you have embedded or a script for ads?
As I’ve reported previously, Jon, I have trouble posting to the reno blogs portion of the site. No matter what, I keep getting this error message on preview:
“Build error in template ‘Comment Preview Template’: Error in tag: Can’t find included template module ‘common-head’ for 49”
If I try to skip the preview and just post directly, then this error message pops up:
Build error in template ‘Comment Error Template’: Error in tag: Can’t find included template module ‘Remember Me’ for 49
I don’t have this problem when I attempt to post to the home page or forum threads. Only the reno blogs. I have this problem on both my desktop (XP) and laptop (Vista) and I have it when using either Firefox or IE.
In a way, glad to hear this. I thought I had an undiscovered Trojan running in the background.
IE8 / Windows XP / TW Business Class
Cursor flickers between pointer and hour-glass during load. tweetmeme is often shown at the bottom of the screen, making me wonder if this is the app’ slowing things down.
Scrolling also a problem and as pointed out, particularly the wheel although I have problems with the slider too.
Haven’t had a problem making comments.

Scroll down freezes all the time, particularly scroll wheel (which is faster); sliding scroll bar always works.
Has to be webpage javascript/php/flash/animation looping and using up too much cpu (hard to believe, but then again *never seen this on any other website* except during initial load), so it’s not on my end
The site freezes briefly for me when I scroll down the page, open a link a new tab and when I type a comment. It freezes sporadically and I can’t pinpoint exactly when it will happen, but it does in one form or another every time I visit.
I’m using Firefox 3.6.8 on a PC with XP.
On Mac i’ve been getting the “pinwheel” a lot lately, meaning that the server may be too slow. i don’t get the pinwheel while I have other sites up concurrently.
The Registration required that donatella speaks about is a real PITA.
Using Mac/safari
It seems to be some ads and/or the marketplace loading. Once in a while, the site will freeze, and usually takes 6-10 seconds to reload. A couple of times, I got a warning that a script was slow and might cause the video (?) to crash.
Using Time Warner Cable’s Wideband service.
