  1. There are some protections- you have to link it to your other accounts, it seems. But even without doing that, just being logged in on brownstoner means your disqus account is available to other disqus users, so far as I can tell. It allows you to post on them without ever having signed up with them. Its the Chuthulu of comment systems.

    You make sense. I had been in touch with ksg about logging in and out problems. Supposedly it isn’t supposed to affect the brownstoner account. Seems he’s wrong.

  3. but hackers can do plenty of damage without that. Just ask Citibank and the CIA whose website got taken down by hackers the other day. That’s scary.

  4. Cgar is right- it won’t know what you don’t tell it. But anything you add on brownstoner it will. And the accounts are linked.I can’t log out of a site using disqus that I’ve never visited before without it sort of logging me out here. Then I have to go click on update acct., etc.
