A small group, masked and practicing social distancing, let out a spontaneous cheer as the gate leading to Squibb Park Bridge was unlocked this morning.
The latest version of the long-troubled Squibb Park Bridge is set to open next week in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Tonight Regina Myer, the president of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation, will give a presentation to CB2’s Parks Committee about the design modifications shown above for the entrance to Squibb Park in Brooklyn Heights. The changes, which will make the entrance more accommodating to those with disabilities, were approved this summer by the Public Design Commission so the meeting is only informational. If you’re interested in attending, it’s at Brooklyn Hospital (121 Dekalb Avenue) at 6pm.
