This two-bedroom apartment was listed as our Co-op of the Day about a month ago, and now it looks like the owner is also trying to test the rental market. We liked this two-bedroom two-bathroom unit at 414 7th Avenue when it was for sale, and we still like it now. And because it’s rented through the owner you won’t have to pay a broker fee but there’s no mention if a board interview would be required. This unit is still on the Brownstoner Marketplace for $725,000. Renting will run you $3,000 a month. What do you think?

i’m confused – i don’t think people looking for 2 bedrooms in south slope are eveen considering 1 bedrooms in manhattan
3000 for a 2 bedroom in a nice brooklyn nabe is a good deal – this would be 4-5k if it were in a neighborhood closer to manhattan – and it would rent
Jenntrixie,
The 1 bedrooms you speak of that can be had in the Finanical District for 3K are 600-700sf.
This is an 1100 sf, 2 bedroom apartment.
Definitely prefer Lot 2’s burger over the one at Cornelius.
I know people that live in a smallish but very nice 1 bedroom in one of the newer buildings in the Financial District for around 3K. Not a hip neighborhood, but convenient.
I guess my personal point is, I love Brooklyn Heights, and Cobble Hill and Park Slope are charming, too. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say I miss the convenience of living in Manhattan, and that when a Brooklyn rent breaches 3K, it bears checking out Manhattan again.
Or, you know, taking that 4K apartment above the bakery in Red Hook.
3 grand a month in manhattan will get you a dumpy 1 bedroom in a murray hill doorman building that was last renovated when reagan was in office. i’d take this instead
“You can get a nice 1.5 not above a shop on a quieter street in parts of Brooklyn Heights or maybe a 1 BR in Manhattan.”
Right, and the one bedroom in Manhattan is going to be quieter with double the traffic and people on the streets? That one bedroom in Manhattan won’t be nearly as big or as nice for 3 grand a month unless.
> whats the retail like that far down on 7th?
Agree with 11217 – this is the best part of 7th Ave. This is also very close to a few nice places on 8th & 6th.
haha bod – the brooklyn pub was hoppin on sat night – kinda funny it caused so much controversy about not being a “good fit” for the neighborhood – i guess the neighborhood doesnt read brownstoner.com
lot2 was nice – good neighborhood spot. you dont’t like the cornelius burger better – 11217?
Definitely, Broadwayron. It’s amusing to me that he doesn’t realize that everyone here knows.
