Rental of the Day: 239 Stuyvesant Avenue
Of this one-bedroom apartment at 239 Stuyvesant Avenue in Bed Stuy, the broker says, “Its cup runneth over with original details and the finest of modern fixtures.” The wood details are indeed impressive and that bathroom is pretty cute, but we’re not sure that kitchen is deserving of the superlatives. And at $1,275 the price isn’t far-fetched. However, StreetEasy shows this has been on the market for 37 days and it looks like it’ll pass its September 1st move-in date with no takers. Wonder why?

I live near this place and yes it is very far from the A/C train. The fact that there is no access to the garden is another downer. The neighborhood is historic and quiet. The fact they don’t have access to the garden is a downer but the solution to that is buy your own brownstone and become a homeowner not a renter. I would forgo this rental though.
Who is “Corcoan”
The price is absolutely in line with other properties in the neighborhood. This is not an unreasonable rent. Except for the broker’s fee.
Pretty much been said: who wants to pay that kind of money for a cold dark apartment with no garden access?
10 block radius to nearest subway. Shuttle service?
***Bid half off peak comps***
And I agree, there is no need to pay a broker fee.
Kitchen is in the middle, folks. They should have showed a clear photo of the bedroom, which is in the back where the kitchen would have been originally and which should have a fireplace. Wonder why they did not show a photo of it. Looks like a very nice layout.
I see nothing wrong with this location. Maybe a bit far from the train but lovely amenities nearby and a very pleasant walk.
But I don’t know if I’d want to live on the ground floor with no garden access! Meanies.
maybe cuz it’s only worth 950, tops?
*rob*
Paying the fee for an apartment like this is ridiculous.
