Rental of the Day: 128 Clinton Avenue
Here’s a pretty spectacular three-bedroom rental in a 1839 Clinton Hill “farm house.” The house, at 128 Clinton Avenue, looks well-preserved with unique details throughout; we’re even loving the bathroom. (The house was on the Clinton Hill House Tour a few years ago, we believe.) With a backyard garden and a front porch, that’s about the closest to (high-end) country living in Brooklyn that you’re going to get! It is listed for $5,250 a month. Sound like a fair price to you?

I remember seeing this one on the house tour a few years back. It was largely unappealing- I suppose ‘not to my taste’ would be more polite/apt. Although rather gaudy the detail and craftsmanship were unassailable.
I recall the kitchen being small but well-lit by windows and skylights. The property’s real draw was the outbuilding in the back which had been converted to a very attractive and comfortable workspace.

Holy mother of god. I hope they are gazibillionaires who light their BBQ with $100 bills.

This is the parlour floor and the basement. that means, you have to keep the doors shut on the parlour level because you’re sharing the hallway with people from the upper floor.
that doesn’t work for me at ANY price, and especially at $5,250 a month. FAIL
I was looking 7 years ago, wonder what happened — i.e. if the original seller has been toying with selling the place for a while or it has actually changed hands. It is a very nice place as I remember with a garage out back where the guy worked on sets but what a hike from transportation!
Yep, it was for sale about 3 years ago. I saw it. The main floor is beautiful and grand. But bedrooms are in what I’d call a basement. Dark and small.
