Here’s an interesting pad for rent at 291 8th Street in Park Slope. The space, which is in a former HOTD, is being marketed as a one-bedroom live/work loft. (The house was asking $2,100,000 back in late ’09, but it never sold.) The listing doesn’t specify, but it looks like this a floor-through rental; the ad says it’s a roomy 1,440 square feet. We’re definitely digging all the skylights and high ceilings. So what do you make of the $3,500/month rent?

  1. That’s Birth Day Presence… (which is in the back of Pilates Garage–or was, at least; I hear they found a new space). It’s very bright, which is great, but the space is pretty raw. The little bathroom is kind of gnarly, as is the makeshift kitchen space next to it, along with the little office space built above it…

  2. If I am remembering the listing correctly, this is mainly like a dug out, and the upstairs deck surrounds those skylights.

Also, according to the posts from HOTD, water pours in the front when it rains…wonder if they fixed that.

And HOTD listing called his part commercial space. Wonder what happened to have them be able to list it as live-in, habitable space.

Interesting listing….love the irony in the realty company with the listing being called “Aboveground.”
