This spacious one-bedroom apartment at 860 Prospect in Crown Heights certainly isn’t lacking in the historical charm department. It’s got a very stately exterior, and on top of all the expected interior details there’s also a “dome shaped stained glass ceiling in bathroom.” We also think the window bench is a very nice touch. What do you make of the $1,500/month rent?

  1. Also, the ceiling in the bathroom appears to have a blue tortoise or moire painted pattern on it. Anyone know what that is? Are my eyes deceiving me? Looks great with the stained glass.

  2. Oh my, the rent is a bit up there but those interiors are why I love New York.. even though I’m vacationing in Los Angeles now in a wonderful 1920’s apartment building, you just can’t compare with stained glass dome ceilings.

  3. Map is wrong. This house is between Nostrand and New York Avenues, one of the most beautiful blocks in CHN, which goes east-west, so never in CH South. Many of the houses in this group have the extension with similar bathrooms. We had a couple on our house tours over the years. Absolutely gorgeous.

It’s a couple hundred dollars more than the usual around here, but I think they may be able to get it, because of the block, and the apartment itself.
