Rental of the Day: 860 Prospect Place
This spacious one-bedroom apartment at 860 Prospect in Crown Heights certainly isn’t lacking in the historical charm department. It’s got a very stately exterior, and on top of all the expected interior details there’s also a “dome shaped stained glass ceiling in bathroom.” We also think the window bench is a very nice touch. What do you make of the $1,500/month rent?

Yes, fridge “outside” kitchen cuz they kept the original doorway. Love it.
Anyone who rejects an apartment ONLY because it is 600 feet east of Nostrand Avenue certainly doesn’t deserve a pretty space like this.
Gorgeous apartment. This is high for the neighborhood for a 1BR though the prices in the hood vary widely and especially seasonally. This is a breathtaking space and could get a renter for $1500 especially since just last summer I saw craptastic 1 BRs going for $1500-1600 on all the streets in Crown Heights North/South between Classon and Franklin. IMO an owner can list whatever price they want and if there is just ONE “qualified renter” who wants to sign on the dotted line then the landlord priced correctly. My apartment search ended in my finding a great apartment in Crown Heights North that is undermarket because my landlord values stable, responsible tenants.
There will be lots of renter- drawn to the hood because they are priced out of Prospect Heights or because they think they are in Prospect Heights who will be too afraid to be living east of Nostrand. Anywhich way best of luck to the landlord and the renter.
Did I see that right… is the refrigerator NOT in the kitchen?
yeah m4l – but if the tenant does it he’ll probably end up keeping the their security deposit!
DH, if landlord, it would be an extra $100/month in rent
“Renter could restore the missing mantle mirror. Very easy.”
i think you mean landlord!
Well….you’d have to glaze it from the outside, since you wouldn’t want to remove the mantle to put in the glass. Though you could!
