Rental of the Day: 20 Willow Street
This two-bedroom, upper duplex rental at 20 Willow Street isn’t in pristine shape but it definitely has some old-school charm. Without a floorplan, it’s also a bit difficult to tell exactly what’s going on with the layout but the old floors and windows are character-ful and a terrace, however small, never hurts either. The monthly rent is $4,000, which isn’t unthinkable for a two-bedroom place a block from the promenade. Think it’ll get close?

Oh please. For the same rent I am living in a large two bedroom with gorgeous water view right ON the (far better) Hudson River promenade — with no highway between me and the water. Included in my rent are doormen, a gym, a roof deck with panoramic views that include Brooklyn Heights and far, far beyond. I don’t have to make my way down to the waterfront park. I’m ON it. I can sail from the marina right below. I mean, I love Brooklyn or I wouldn’t be on this blog, but at some point you really have to include Manhattan rents/prices in your thinking.

At least you’re getting a real kitchen and not some crappy rental job.
Oooh, you guys have to go walk the Google man – this is the corner house on Willow/Middagh, e.g., where Middagh dead ends, and the block where a bunch of beautiful old clap boards are located. Great section of North Heights. I like Willowtown, but would much prefer this locale.
Minard is half-right, the picture of the house (Google street view that is not shown on the listing) is Willow Place.
Willow Street is the location of the broker listing.
BH is right, this rental is on Willow street. The 2007 listing was much better at extolling the greatness of this apartment.
that house in on Willow Place.
this would rent for even more if it were on Willow Street.
FWIW – Same asking rent as three years ago.
