houseMost New Yorkers are pretty used to tales of landlords evicting tenants in the pursuit of profit maximization. But even the most hardened free-marketeer must have raised his eyebrows at yesterday’s report of two elederly sisters being kicked out of the Cobble Hill townhouse where they grew up by their nephew, Joseph DeLeonibus. Adding another layer of intrigue was the listing for the Cheever Place property on Corcoran: “House is being offered for $999,999, without seeing it, without inspecting it, must close in 30 days, must be all cash and must take tenants in place.” Sounds a little desperate to us. There must be more to the story.

    egnorant

  2. Let me continue. When your Father moved in he would take Aunt Annie to the checks cashed place by wheel chair, to cash her check. He would take the whole thing. Aunt Annie would ask us for money. She said she was broke. We found out it was your father who took the money. Your father also told your grandmother that he was sending Joe and I $200 for rent. That was a lie. I got in touch with SS and told them what was going on. THey never did enything about it. I had no right to do anything to Aunt Jeans check. Aunt Annie check was deposited right to the bank. Lenny couldn’t get his hands on it. Annie was so messed up in the head, Katie and Cookie telling her how bad her son was she started to believe them. Katie told Cousin Johnnie that Joseph took all her money and left her with nothing. Johnnie called Joseph up on the phone and asked him about it. How do you think my husband felt, put yourself in his shoes. Thats when Joseph started to get sick. He had a breakdown. He was in the hospital a few times. His own mother was against him. They got their way. Thats why he was unable to go down there, he was very sick. We warned them that when Annie started to get sick we had no choice we had to sell the house. Thet had a long time to plan that they planned. When Annie died, we had to sell the house. Thats when your father called the news. The rest I’m sure you know. As far as your Grandmother joe and I offered to take her to our house. We had no intention to hurt her. She got caught up in the crap between Katie and your father. We offered to take her in your father said she doesn’t need you she has me . The only thing he helped was to spend what was hers and destroy my husband. He was very close to Lenny growing up. He never expected this from all of you.Aunt Jean was loving to us. She made us feel welcome when we went to Brooklyn. All Annie ever did was hurt her son and make him cry. He will never forgive his mother she caused all of this in allowing everybody knowing family business, and never putting them in their place. Well Mandt I told you just about everything. You deside. Grace

  3. Mandy, First lets get this straight. All that posted in the beginning, when this all happened, I have no idea who they are. Think what you want to think. I started writing when i felt I had to defend my husband, Joseph. You seem to have a problem with the mortgage. The reason I will tell you what happened is because I want to, not because I have to. Uncle Joey got sick, Mary Fuggetta died (top floor). As It happened Katy’s grandson Danny took out a mortgage on her house, and never paid for it. She lost the house. Aunt Annie gave her the top floor. Katie decided that because she was a sister she did not have to pay rent. There was a war. Then Uncle Joey passed away. When he died Aunt Annie lost his pension. So when you said we enjoyed his pension I was really hurt by that. All she was recieving a month from SS $560 per month. Joseph and I had no intention to sell that house, we were forced. There was an exsisting mortgage on the house from a long time age. If you must know they invested in a business that busted. Joseph and I paid for that mortgage, it was nobody’s business. So there we were, paying for a mortgage, gas, electric, taxes, insurance and what ever happened around the house. What ever money we saved was going toard the house in Brooklyn. Finally our money ran out. We spoke to Aunt Annie to sell the house. We would build a house for her and Aunt Jean. Katie and her trouble making Cookie kept telling her not to sell, and they were turning Annie against her son. A son who did everything for her and her sisters all his life. So when you said he was never there that also hurt. Lets get back to the mortgage, because you are so interested in that money. What ever money Joseph and I had was gone. WE had to mortgage our own house. A house that we worked so hard to pay off. Now we had a mortgage in Brooklyn and a mortgage in New Jersey. Thats when your father came into the picture. No money was coming into the house except for the small SS check Annie was getting. WE reserved the money we mortgage money from our house, and used it toard the bills in Brooklyn. Money goes fast. Your father moved in Katie refused to pay a dime, and Aunt Annie had no concept of money. WE had to do something and fast. Katie kept complaining why was the house under Joseph’s name. Why, because it was his parents house. It should be left to him. Katie and Cookie did not like that Idea, they did all they could to make things worse. We were at the point we had to do something. We needed money coming into the house. We refinanced the house in Brooklyn. We paid our house off. We were already losing the house in Brooklyn, why should we loose our house too.

  4. Hello everyone. My name is Stephanie Visconti, daughter of the Anthony Visconti, deceased. I came upon this website thanks to Mandi. What is wrong with all of you???? WHY slander everyone? Obviously, no has the same story, so no one is gonna know what really happened. It saddens me greatly to see the house on Cheever Place being sold, as it was in our family forever. All the Christmases we ALL spent together there. Each year one of you played Santa. What happened? I know that after my father died, my mom struggled for years to keep a house over our heads. I dont remember anybody calling or coming over to help my mother. But we still have love in our hearts for all of you. REGARDLESS- we all need to be adult here. The party that IS in the wrong- you know who you are. and your time will come. BUT- lets leave the slander behind. I am too happy to have mandi and peter and their families to be back in my life. the past is the past. and now- with the house on Cheever Place gone, our past has been lost.
and the rest of you- who cant sign your names- what exactly are you afraid of?

  5. im not here to vindicate myself but i want to set the record straight….gracie we both know you NEVER ever gave me money nor did i STEAL any money from you….what happened was you sent me a bunch of jewelry to sell for you{first time we talkrd in 10 years}then i called you to tell you i couldnt do it ,that nobody could afford it.you said show it around take your timeso i did…then i tried calling you twice to tell you it was a no go…left messages on your machine at that time…you never responed….so i called aunt annie and talked to her about it…told her that i was returning it and so aunt annie said to send it to her and she would sii to it that you got it back…..been down there 3xs since saw you twice and 3 days when ub=ncle joey passed and you never mentioned a word about it .so i figured everything was cool and that you got your stuff back….after that the next time you called me which was only a few months ago you were so worried about what my childern were thinking.
one thing i am in agreement with if there was all this trouble why didnt someone call us….you knew how lenny was , why did you give him the ins. policy…we should of been called and it would of been taken care of.
i talked to aunt annie every month and she would tell me every thing that was going on and half of what you say is true….we got in touch with someone at the police dept over on union street….and there was only 1 report of abuse from that address…did any one of you call ….NO…..we were left out of a lot of things and personally i dont give a shit no more…the people i knew that were still my family are now gone so i dont need to be a part of that family no more…everybody has something to say about somebody but nobody gave an inch to help….you were lucky any time you needed aunt any and uncle joey were there for you and i can say the same thing…..
and dont think for 1 moment peter and mandi and even lacey know what their father is all about..they know more then you think! their concern was their grandmother not him!
