  1. The Red Hook property mentioned above is listed at 850K which seems high for that nabe. The house looked a little on the small side to me, but there is a garage which is rare. It’s worth a look on Sunday. I wish I could see some interior shots.

  2. Interesting to see an obvious troll in “support” of PLG. It wouldn’t surprise me if “anonymous 1:06” was one of the trolls bashing Lefferts in earlier threads. With friends like this, who needs enemies?

I concur with my fellow PLG “defender”, “Bunky” that “Nonny 12:23’s” comment about the Rutland Road house was perfectly reasonable and by no means an attack on our neighborhood.

  3. 2:28–I think these posts have already shown that people can say less-than-flatering things about PLG without insulting or inflaming anyone. So nice try, but the wars are over. (God willing).

  4. I had hoped we’d heard the last of this whole PLG issue. Can’t you people ever have done with anything? The rest of us are tired of reading this junk. Here’s a peace proposal:

Critics of Lefferts: Instead of phrasing your worries/concerns in terms of Lefferts, phrase them move vaguely in terms of NE Brooklyn or something like that. In general, avoid terms like “Lefferts” and “PLG”.

Residents of Lefferts: Please don’t be overly sensitive and/or belligerent. If someone does say something you don’t like about Lefferts, don’t lash out at that person. Instead, feel free to criticize my nabe, Midwood. We’re an easy target and we can handle it, so take your best shot!

Are both sides willing to abide by these proposals? If so, then we might be able to get back to a more interesting discussion.

  5. I enjoy looking at the listings, especially when they are accompanied by a lot of pics, but why, oh why, do brokers try to get so cute in the descriptions? Please just give me the facts, some real historical info if you have it, specs, etc. The rest of it is just so……treakley.

I also wish some of them would read up on brownstones, or old houses in general, before conducting tours. I was on one open house where the broker was asked why the dressing rooms on the bedroom floor had sinks, and the broker said that it was because the rest of the house did not have indoor plumbing. Really. I had to run from the room with my hand over my mouth. (This was a broker from a REALLY big firm, not a fly by night tiny brokerage.)
